The movie started with Indian family living in USA, at first you would think it's about addressing issues about immigrants, but slowly the tension escalates, with Sam, the protagonist encounter her friend Tamira, who seemed scared and holding an empty jar that really catch your attention.
Tamira tells Sam that there's something in the jar despite not being able to see it, she told her that she found the jar, and it was calling her name, Sam got so angry at Tamira that she broke the jar.
Tamira panicked fearing a great danger to her life, then Sam went to get help, to return to find that Tamira disappeared. after a while, Sam go out with her boyfriend thinking everything is normal, talking about her personal issues, to hear something calling her name, then go to check it out, to have boyfriend attacked brutally by invisible force till his painful death.
The cops think Sam's boyfriend died due to animal attack, only Sam knew that the thing that killed him is the same thing that took Tamira. Sam started to look confused as Tamira looked before.
With the help of her friend, Sam found out that the dark force threatening her is demonic entity feed on negative energy, a flesh-eating demon called Pishach, that Sam released from its vessel when she broke the jar.
I love the pace the movie take, it get better and better over time, as movies should be.
