The segment Parent Death Trap in Creepshow season 4, starts Lyle who have two controlling parents, Lyle couldn't stand his parents bullying him, so he snapped and killed his parents, which turns them into ghosts, then he met his high school crush Violet, who was hated by his parents and tried to make get him away from her, then they got married, and shortly after the marriage she poison him. my problem starts with the ending, they could've ended the segment with the highest point of tension, Lyle got being poisoned, the ending reveal she killed her parents, then you have the perfect ending for a perfect villainess. yet, what they actually did, that they made detectives find the bodies both of Lyle and Violet parents, then somehow Lyle's parents made a deadly scream, something wasn't established and something Violet's parents don't posses somehow despite being ghosts too, and such scream didn't hurt Lyle, but just ended up with Violet death off-screen, and Lyle being sent to prison.
the show jumped from being a horror show with mostly dark theme at the end into a cop show, where the two main villains ending up with dying or sent to prison, which is unfortunate, also the segment goes from being on the highest tension point, to lower and lower ending, they could just showed Lyle final moments and death on screen, close up on his face, revealing how evil Violet is at the very end giving the characters the ending they deserve. Anyway, the show is great as a whole, you should check it out.
