The movie is about the queen Boudica played by the beautiful Olga Kurylenko, who lost her kingdom to the Romans who took over her kingdom.
The movie start slow, like the queen went to make her makeup or something then a female warrior knelled to her, which made a Roman dude get angry that he garbed the queen. The female warrior then took her sword then cut his arm then his head, it was shockingly beautiful, as every thing since the start suggested that the movie would be slow, about women talking tough, but actually we have actual warrior, speak less and act more.
I'm don't know much about the Roman history, but I found it weird that the bad guy is called Catus Dickianus, his name almost seems like insult lol.
And the way they depicted the Roman emperor as soy boy, I mean, if this is your ultimate enemy, of course you will easily win.
And what about making everything seems modern, like going to make her makeup and speaking about beauty products imported from multiple countries, Catus talking about how the Roman tutors are the best in the world, like I doubt that they import teachers from India, or China then to teach children, it just seem too modern, like, are we gonna see them watch TV together as a family?
I don't know why they went back and forward between the king's fight and demise and the queen taking the news, the fight is well-done, yet making it as flashback ruin the tension of the situation.
On the other hand, I loved Olga Kurylenko as the queen, I sympathized on how nice she was and how much she had to face, and she was belittled by the Romans despite being the queen, especially when her kingdom was taken from her then being humiliated to be tortured in public, it was harsh, and really makes you sympathize with the character.
The thing that the queen had to be literately forged in fire like a sword in order to transition from being submissive to the Romans into being a warrior queen is really nice, she didn't just unlock some powers like some superhero and changed suddenly to be a warrior queen, she had to grow and get over obstacles, she had to go through blood, tears and sweat to be the way she is.
The movie didn't have to be 100 minutes, the scene of the oracle with the queen wasn't necessarily and take from the movie than it gives, like most two things I hate about the scene is how it spoils how the movie will go, and showing a suicidal thoughts of the queen, it's like telling you what will happen before happening in the most obvious way..
The final battle was epic, but why they say "fire" while they are shooting arrows?
I liked the movie overall, the effects are really great, I love Olga Kurylenko, she's great actress as evil or good, the story is also good, the ending was touching, and a great glorious final battle.
